That Wayne Rooney goal-sheer class!
Setting: Manchester United vs Manchester City (2-1) Old Trafford February 12, 2011
Manchester United-the eternal sand in Manchester City's vaseline- ( uhm... well, until the 6-1 drubbing by City at Old Trafford this season!) confirmed their supremacy over their city neighbours yet again in this match. The winning goal ( a worthy one anyday) was scored by a certain Wayne Rooney. This goal has been seen so many times by football afficionados but, for it's sheer beauty, it's worth seeing again! He rose in the box to meet Nani's cross with a beautiful overhead kick-the ball nesting in the top left corner of City's goal. City's goalie(Joe Hart) was rooted to the spot!-Goal of the Season.
The celebration was also one of the lasting images of the previous season ( Rooney had a rough patch prior to this goal, hence it was as if he was telling the whole world with his celebration that: Form is temporary, Class is permanent B-) )
