2Face- Dance In The Rain

2Face- Dance In The Rain

Check out the video for 2face's latest effort. I like the video of the Nigerian Crooner's song.

Mad props for trying to be different and all, with the song.

But:

I think the intro is too long, and doesn't really develop as the song progresses. The melody is monotonous and the lyrics aren't really memorable, though one can identify with the 'struggle' theme.

For somebody with good vocals, I really didn't think he put his best foot forward here- the backup singer's vocals were on point though. Nothing special about the instrumental arrangement either.

Overall, not too many people will remember this song in 6 months! ( Cf- African Queen- his Magnum Opus )

Shakira-Empire

Shakira-Empire

Check out this single from Shakira's self-titled latest album, Shakira

The song has a Bond-like theme

The introduction was soft and captivating. The lyrics were love- themed ( as was all the tracks in Album). The vocals were strong and complex and had an impressive range that reached a climax during the melody. The instruments and the background vocals gave the song a greater depth and appeal.

Beautiful song

( she courted some controversy with one of the song, available in the Spanish version of the Album, which she sung in Catalan, 'Boig Per Tu' )

It's Mother's Day on 30/3/14

It'll be Mother's day in a few days.

Here are a few quotes to appreciate our mothers who:

-sired and raised us -often against all odds

-Comfort us through crappy boyfriends and dodgy girlfriends

- are there for us when we are under the weather

- are always watching our backs and looking out for our best interests

- turn to ad hoc nannies when we have our own kids

-are just awesome beings!!

We love you

300: Rise Of An Empire

300: Rise Of An Empire

Saw this flick a few days ago.

It's told in the breathtaking visual style of the blockbuster "300" (2007)

But this new chapter of the epic saga takes the action to a fresh battlefield-on the sea-as Greek general Themistocles ( Sullivan Stapleton) attempts to unite all of Greece by leading the charge that will change the course of the war.

This film pits Themistocles against the massive invading Persian forces led by mortal-turned-god Xerxes, and Artemisia (Eva Green), vengeful commander of the Persian navy.

My verdict- it didn't quite reach the heady heights of the original '300' and Sullivan Stapleton is no Gerard Butler- in the original flick ( this is Sparta!! Prepare to dine in Hell!! ) but props for Eva Green's acting ( it was immense ) and the skilful weaving of the storyline such that it incorporated that of the original '300'

My famous line- Themistocles: "Better to die standing than live on your knees!!"

You'd not need to think too much in this film. Just get your popcorn and watch gore, splattered blood in slow motion and insane fight scenes if that ish catches your fancy

True Detective- good Tv show

True Detective- good Tv show

It's official! I'm a 'True Detective' fan now!!

Great acting, great storyline

Starring Matthew McConaughey. ( as the misanthropist cop, Rust Cohle) & Woody Harrelson ( as the slightly hypocritical cop who couldn't keep his sh*t together, Marty Hart) They are as different as night and day. The trouble is: they are partners!!

If you ever wondered whether McConaughey deserved his recent Oscar or whether he's a great method actor, watch True Detective!

He says sh*t like this: "In eternity where there is no time, nothing can grow, nothing becomes, nothing changes. So death created time to grow the things that it would kill, but into the same lives that you've always been born into"

Check out this link to find out how this new show is already having a Cult followership

The higher up the mountain, the more treacherous the path.
