Men of Honour

Men of Honour
'....The Navy Diver is not a fighting man, he is a salvage expert. If it is lost underwater, he finds it. If it's sunk, he brings it up. If it's in the way, he moves it. If he's lucky, he will die young, 200 feet beneath the waves, for that is the closest he'll ever get to being a hero ....'
If you require a reminder of what a never-say-die attitude is, this is the film to watch. It is the true story of  Carl Brashear's(Cuba Gooding Jnr) determination to overcome racism and become the first African American Navy diver (and the first black Master Diver). The odds he had to overcome were unbelievable. Great acting (as always) by Master Chief Petty Officer 'Billy' Sunday(Robert De Niro) as Carl's greatest foe and, ultimately, his best friend
