Jamaican Olympic trials-Bolt beaten!!

Usain Bolt suffered a major upset in the 100m final at the Jamaican Olympic trials as world champion Yohan Blake won in a time of 9.75 seconds. Olympic champion Bolt was second in 9.86, with former world record holder Asafa Powell in third in 9.88. The trio qualified for the Olympics. 
Bolt's recent run of poor starts continued in this race. He had to work hard to get in the qualifying positions. Otherwise, I think he would have won the race at a canter. He needs to work on this-if he wants to remain the main man at the Olympics in a few months

Check out Italy's Mario Balotelli's scorching effort-in the Azzurri's 2-1 win over favourites, Germany-in the second semi-final earlier today. Great goal! Why always him! 
The striker scored both Italian goals in a thrilling encounter where experience ( think Pirlo for Italy) prevailed over youth ( think Reus for Germany)

Italy's Pirlo's cheeky penalty kick, versus England, on Sunday is worth seeing one more time. One word- simply Rude!!  You've got to feel sorry for England's goalie-Joe Hart! Pirlo has definitely scored cool points in my book, if you consider the context in which he executed this audacious chip ( his side was one penalty down at that point!)

This was the Swedes' first goal in a 2-) win. Unfortunately, it was too little too late as they(Sweden) had lost their first 2 matches and failed to qualify for the Q/finals

Check out Italy's Mario Balotelli's half volleyed-goal vs. Rep. of Ireland  a few hours ago. It was Italy's second goal in a 2-0 win. Great goal!
This was the last group stage match and the Italians qualified, in second place, for the quarter finals. Spain won the group -with a 1-0 win over the enterprising Croats.
