Great goals
Before Messi, there was Romario
Romario De Souza Faria-described by Cruyff as 'the genius of the goal area'.The ultimate 'fox in the box'.
In the '93/'94 season Romario scored an astonishing 30 goals in 34 games for Barcelona. His partnership with Stoichkov was legendary. No player was better at the lobbed goal than Romario. I think his best goal was the audacious effort against Real Sociedad.

After craftily beating the offside trap he controlled the ball with his chest and without looking at the goal-instinctively knowing that the keeper was off his line-he lobbed the ball over him into the net. Great goal!

Check out some of his other great goals (the video quality is poor, though)
