Football-This week in songs

Football-This week in songs

Chelsea

These are difficult times at The Bridge. What with back to back losses

A lot has already been said though. Lag aka- says 'Coolu temper' to the angry faithfuls.

In the wise words of Patrick Swayze: "It will get worse before it gets better"

The faithfuls hope it starts getting better against Fulham today

Majek Fashek says "Redemption ( song)" starts today

Arsenal

Arsenal have made it a club record 10 straight away wins with a 2-1 victory over Marseille. Goals from Theo Walcott and Aaron Ramsey were enough.

Ramsey is going through a Purple patch at these days. 'Rambo' on the Rampage. MC Hammer says : " You Can't Touch This"

Arsenal fans echo this.

Gone are the days when a prominent figure dies each time he scores!...err not quite. Ken Norton ( who famously broke Mohammed Ali's jaw ) died 3 days ago!!. Arsenal welcomes Stoke City on Sunday

Man Utd

Rooney is happy again and playing well- A good thing for Man Utd. However some of us had that feeling that he was somebody out to prove a point in the last match- he felt RVP stole his thunder and he wanted it back.

He had this song: "Steal Your Thunder" in mind-

It appears as if RVP was singing Mariah Carey's song to Rooney in return: "Why are you so obsessed with me?"

Utd fans scoff: Nothing there!

They refer us to Pope's song and say: Chill y'all " E Farabale"

Hmmm....watch this space!

Man Utd visits the Etihad this weekend in what promises to be a mouth-watering encounter!

Man City

Goals from Edin Dzeko, Yaya Toure and Sergio Aguero in a ten minute blitz at the start of the second half ( against Pizen) saw City move level at the top of their CL group and sets them up nicely for the match at OT this weekend. David Silva and Gael Clichy are still fitness doubts for the derby- this weekend

Aguero feels he should have something to say again. He was brilliant on Tuesday. Dagrin says Utd will chop "Kondo" at the Etihad on Sunday

Liverpool

With Liverpool off to a fine start, manager Brendan Rodgers leap frogged over his usual talk of Top Four and went straight into a tilt for the title. Oh, well -"Always aim for winning the league; even if you miss, you'll land among the Top Four.”-

Old football proverb, probably

Apparently Rodgers was seen with head phones at the training ground listening to: Brandy ( ft Mase)- 'Sitting on top of the world'

They've had a really good start, got great results in 4 tough games, and the consistency and resilience-that was missing last season-appears to be present now. Coutinho's creativity will be missed though, but Suarez should be back with a bite...err..bang against Man Utd in the COcup

In the league, the Kop welcomes Southampton this weekend.

Real Madrid

CR7 showed he's still the top dawg at Real with a new contract and a hat trick against Galatasaray (- his third goal was pure joy!).

Eldee says: He's a "Big Boy"

Even Benzema got a rare brace these days! Still early days but Isco is proving to be the buy of the season for Real. ( a fully fit Gareth Bale might have a thing or 2 to say about that! )

Isco set things rolling again with a goal in Turkey. Perhaps Ozil won't be missed afterall. Marcelo is still injured, Varane and Coentrao rejoin the squad for Getafe. Bale should start too

Barcelona

Messi, Ha! This dude has not let CR7 get 24 hours in the spotlight like.......forever, really!

It's like he's always telling CR7 : "Hit me with your best shot"

Oh well, CR7 retorts: " Don't you wish your girlfriend was hot like me??" Pussycat Dolls

Victor Valdes' fine form continues and he has had more MoTM Performances than Messi this season . To think the dude is nearing the end of his contract with the club

Isco or Neymar? It's a no brainer really. Right now Isco is the better value for money buy. Barca travel to Rayo Vallecano ( to hand them the expected 4-0 drubbing) this weekend

Swansea

Special mention to Swansea who played like 'Like A Boss' at Valencia yesterday.

Slim Thug would be proud!

They visit Crystal Palace on Sunday
