Japan beats the United States on penalties to win their first ever world cup ( Fact-women are lousy penalty-takers :D) They were deserving champions-their never-say-die attitude was key to this success . The L.A. Times sums it up beautifully 'It was the cruelest of endings for the U.S., the happiest of outcomes for Japan. And probably the best of results for the future of women’s soccer'. B-)
